Gabriel Medina’s victory at the Fiji Pro last June was a cause for double celebration here at Cabianca Surfboards – Gabriel’s Fiji quiver were the first boards shaped by Johnny at our brand-new BCSC factory here in the heart of the Basque Country, in Zarautz, Spain.
Sharp-eyed Medina fans watching the J-Bay Open last month will have noticed that Gabriel’s boards all featured a zebra graphic on the deck – what’s the story? Well, Gabriel has always been a big fan of bold graphics, and it’s a new idea of his to match some quivers with a design that matches the location of a tour stop – starting with Zebras for J-Bay.
Let’s face it: The Endless Summer would be a total bummer. Spring and Fall are the best seasons for waves, and summer generally sucks. Not that we’re complaining: summer is amazing and sniffing out fun little knee high peaks along our beautiful coastline is never not a good idea.
