ABOUT THE DFK 2.0

WAVE TYPE / SIZE	The DFK 2.0 works in all kinds of conditions and for most ability of surfers. If the wave has a pocket, steep face and power, the board almost rides itself! If the waves have less power, the board needs an advanced surfer to make use of its best characteristics. It is made for technical surfing from 1 to 10 feet waves – just choose the right measurements based on the waves you surf the most.

ROCKER	The board has a lot of rocker, mostly concentrated in the centre of the surfer’s base when standing.
CONCAVE	The single concave all along the board, captures the water capture generating greater water flow pressure towards the fins. This means the more pressure the surfer applies to the board, the greater the speed.
RAIL TYPE	Medium to low rails with really sharp edges from before the fins to the tail. These edges allow for a better grip on the wave face, giving more drive in extreme conditions.

ABOUT THE DFK Edge

WAVE TYPE / SIZE	The DFK Edge is a variation of the DFK 2.0. It shares the same DNA but features a modified dome deck that reduces volume at the rails, resulting in lower rails and sharper edges, all while maintaining the board’s overall volume. This adjustment gives the board more hold and penetration in steeper, faster sections. Ideal when control and drive at high speed are essential. It performs best in hollow, powerful, and longer waves. Recommended for waves from 3 to 10 feet. Choose the dimensions based on the waves you want to surf.

Taking the DFK 2.0’s high performance DNA as a starting point, Johnny developed a board designed to be ultra responsive in high quality waves anywhere up to five feet. Featuring a brand new foil with lower, softer rails for great drive and hold, the GAME’s flatter tail rocker combines with a mellow single to double concave for maximum speed and flow. Meanwhile, the fins are set back further than the DFK, making it the perfect choice for explosive rail-to-rail surfing off the back foot. Gabriel’s verdict? “It’s magic!”

Rocker	Regular rocker at the entry to a lower rocker at the tail.
Concave	Good concave in the front, transition to a double concave middle of the fins to “V” on the tail. The little curve in the tail and the “Vee” at the water exit makes tighter turns in short spaces much easier. The entire foil (volume distribution) and outline are further back, making it easier for surfers who use more strength and are constantly on the back foot.
Rail Type	Lower rails that are more sharp on the edge and work on the same principle as the DFK’s rail shape and edge.

BANDIDA

Turn every seven into a ten

After Gabriel Medina won #thetest contest at Kelly’s wave pool with this board, Johnny asked him how it went – his reply? “Bandida!”. Bandida (literally ‘Bandit’) is retro Brazilian slang for ‘badass’, and the nickname has stuck – even though there’s nothing retro about this ultra progressive shape. Designed for high performance surfing on less critical waves like Lowers, Snapper and Jeffreys Bay, The Bandida has low rocker and a deep double concave for generating tons of speed and drive, but doesn’t compromise on response on the face or agility in the air.

Concave	Single concave at the front foot that transitions to double concave to Vee bottom at the tip of the tail. It’s an adjustment to the performance of The Medina model, having added nose and tail area. To help move from rail to rail, a “V” was created on the deck, making the board easy to perform maneuvers quickly.

EL CABALLERO

To get the most out of a high performance surfboard, you need to be a high performance surfer, right? Wrong. The Caballero takes the Formula 1 DNA of our DFK model and makes it just a little more forgiving, making it the weapon of choice for good surfers looking for excellent all-round performance. Perfect for power surfing, the Caballero has a mellow, versatile rocker, single concave, and fuller rails that still have lots of bite for good drive and rail-to-rail surfing. If you’re a bigger guy who loves hacking the lip – get this board. If you’re improving fast and learning to carve beautiful lines – get this board. Muleke is an affectionate Brazilian term for a young kid who is both smart and wild in equal amounts, so we think it’s a pretty good name for our Grom model, which is designed to be both forgiving enough to learn the basics, yet progressive enough to keep up with the modern grom’s insanely fast learning curve. The Muleke is based upon the DFK, re-dimensioned and adapted for surfers weighing less than 40KG.

Rocker	Regular entry rocker with added rocker in the tail. It has slightly more rocker than the flatter DFK 2.0 for example.
Concave	Deep concave in the front foot and deep double concave in the middle of the fins. Using the DFK principle, there is greater water capture due to the depth of the concave. The double concave then provides greater stability under the feet. This combination allows you to manoeuvre quickly on the wave at high speed.
Rail Type	Lower, soft rails. The curve detail on the bottom rail is smoother, making the transition from rail to rail even easier, without losing too much drive.

Back in the 1970’s, Mark Richards revolutionized small wave surfboards with his twin-fin design, while in the past few years Uber have revolutionized transportation with their taxi app. Not that we’re saying our new Uber Twin shape is revolutionary – it’s just an insanely fun summer board that combines all the speed and looseness of a classic twin with the maneuverability of a modern performance shortboard. Run it with a twin fin setup for ultimate retro fun, or add the rear stabilizer fin for extra drive and control. If you’re looking for a small wave board that flies down the line and turns on a dime, get the Uber Twin.

Ideal for having fun, the twin fin offers good performance and stability. Always choose two inches (or less) than your normal board’s length. With good volume and width, the combination guarantees fun.
